Irma Rodenhuis began singing as an amateur in several choirs in Lima, Peru. Subsequently, she began voice lessons with Martha Flores. She joined the Association des Musiciens Amateurs (AMA) in Geneva, Switzerland, and continued voice lessons with Monique Chatelain.
In Victoria she was a member of the Victoria Philharmonic Choir for two seasons under the direction of Simon Capet.
Irma was born and educated in Lima, Peru. Since early childhood, she had a passion for singing. After working in Switzerland and the USA, she immigrated to Canada in 2006. In her professional life she has worked as a Graphic Designer.
