Judy Swanston was introduced to music at a young age through piano lessons. Later in life during music lessons for her own children discovered a love of singing.
Judy has sung at Christ Church Cathedral for many years as well as other Victoria choirs. Currently she is preparing for “The St. John Passion” with the Victoria Philharmonic Choir.
It was with the Victoria Choral Society that she sung her first Messiah. Then came a few productions of Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas just for variety. After singing for a few years she decided to take voice lessons and is now working with a vocal coach and accompanist.
Last year she entered the novice class for amateur solo performances in the Vancouver Island Music Festival for a stab at performing and is thrilled to be a part of the ” Winterreise Project”.
