Ted Rhodes

Ted Rhodes is a relative newcomer to BC, having moved here from the east coast where he was the President of the Technical University of Nova Scotia following a career across Canada in university education and professional engineering.

Now that Ted is retired, his wife claims his second vocation is music!

As a hobby, Ted studied voice (tenor) at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario and performed as an amateur and professional soloist with organizations such as Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony, Calgary Opera, and Dalhousie Opera Workshop, and the Victoria Choral Society, among others.

He has produced and sung in many musical stage productions including the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Operettas from which came the CBC 500 Label CD titled “Oktoberfest Operetta”. He has served on the Boards of Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Calgary Opera, Symphony Nova Scotia and the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts.

Currently, Ted is President of the Cowichan Symphony Society. He has a CD recording titled “Music We Love” which is a recording of a recital he gave prior to leaving Nova Scotia.
